One Pigeon After Another — Samoan Proverb Tee
$23.99
Va i lupe maua.
"To catch one pigeon after the other."
This alagaupu (Samoan proverb) comes from the old art of pigeon-snaring, tia seu lupe, where a skilled hunter would take bird after bird in quick, unbroken succession. It is an upu fiafia — words of joy — used for a run of good fortune, a streak of success, or simply a happy, fruitful day. Samoans still say it today: "Ua va i lupe maua le aso nei" — "this is a happy day, indeed."
