The Bird That Chases Its Own Catch Away — Samoan Proverb Tee
$23.99
O le manu tafi manu.
"A decoy bird that keeps away the wild birds."
This alagaupu (Samoan proverb) comes from traditional bird hunting with a manutagi — a decoy bird trained to lure wild birds into a cage. Some decoys develop the bad habit of driving the wild birds away before the hunter has time to catch them, undoing the very purpose they were meant to serve. Spoken as upu faifai (words of blame), it describes a repulsive person whose presence drives others away — someone nobody wants to associate with.
