Divided at the Fatuga — Samoan Proverb Tee
$23.99
Ua vaea i ulu fatuga.
"Divided on top of the fatuga."
This alagaupu (Samoan proverb) comes from traditional Samoan house-building. A fale (house) is constructed so it can be taken apart and transported to another place — work that begins by loosening the rounded ends of the house from the fatuga, the timbers to which the roof purlins are fastened. Once split at the fatuga, the two halves of the frame stand apart, equal in size and strength.
